Movies you've never seen, but should.

Wed Mar 21, 2007, 6:05 PM
Hokay, so. Here we have da earth.

Some of the best movies are the ones that hardly anybody has seen. Come up with a list of ten movies that absolutely blew you away. But here's the trick. Come up with ones that didn't get a lot of attention. (So don't put, say, The Matrix, or Pirates of the Carribean or stuff like that.) Describe the movie briefly if you want to.

Here are my picks. (in no particular order)

1. Amelie: Quirky French girl goes around and messes with people, but in a nice way.

2. Bloody Mallory: Also French, this one had evil popes, and a mute kid named Talking Tina

3. Feast: Knocked the socks off of any other recent horror movie by not going overboard on visual effects. Also, broke with tradition regarding who gets killed.

4. Ghost of Mae Nak: For an Asian horror movie about a curse, this ended up being really cute and fun. Not too much moving hair and screaming kids.

5. Ghost World: Based on a comic about the mundane adventures of some aimless kids.

6. Hudsucker Proxy: Tim Robbins invents a circle. You know, for kids.

7. Idle Hands: There's no way to describe this without making it sound stupid, so just watch it.

8. Last Life in the Universe: The guy from Ichi the Killer plays an anal retentive librarian dude who meets a cute girl.

9. Night of the Living Dead (1991 Remake): I ended up liking this one better than the original. Barbara kicks some ass.

10. Sick Girl: Horror movie where the lesbians live! Also managed to be an acceptably cute love story, despite the bugs.

  • Watching: Golden Boy
  • Eating: Peanut M&Ms
  • Drinking: Gatorade

O quam magna est benignitas Salvatoris,
qui omnia liberavit per incarnationem suam,
quam divinitas expiravit, sine vinkulo peccati.
Et sic indumenta ipsius a maximo dolore abstersa sunt.
